Board Meeting

November 19, 2007

Dayton Town Hall

CALL TO ORDER. The meeting was called to order by President Jack Fulcher. Those present were Dick Conover, Kay Ellis, Don Fabricius, Jack Fulcher, Rick Hammen, John Hebbring, Scott Panzenhagen, Tim Rau, Barry Tomaras, Carl Webber, and Ron Wight. Those members who were absent included Ken Hurlbut, Bob Kessler, Don Komis, Gary Prell, Bob Underberg , Amy Wahler and Kathy Weiand.

TREASURER’S REPORT. The Treasurer’s report was provided by Bob Kessler, is appended to these minutes, was moved, seconded and approved.

EXECUTIVE SECRETARY’S REPORT. Kay Ellis reported that ten dues letters were sent to new property owners. In 2007, there was a final total of 664 members and that to date, and two members had paid their fees for the year 2008. Kay reminded the following members that their terms were expiring in 2008, Dick Conover, Kay Ellis, John Hebbring, Gary Prell, Barry Tomaras and Amy Wahler, and requested that these persons notify Jack or Kay by January 3 if they were interested in continuing on the Board.

COMMITTEE REPORTS.
1. Newsletter Committee. The Newsletter Committee reported that the newsletter would be provided to the printer on February 1.
2. Zoning. Recently there was the prevention of a clear cutting of trees by a new owner on Dake. The regulations suggest no trees may be cut down within a 50 distance from the lake except for
an appropriate view corridor.
An administrative review of NR115 indicates a possible strengthening of shoreline zoning by administrative rule rather than by the legislature.
The comprehensive plan and recodification of the zoning ordinance is expected by the year 2010 or 2011.
Mr. Pope suggested to the County Board that his lots in question on Limekiln Lake be zoned as residential lots, which suggestion is currently under consideration.

3. Mission Statement. President Jack suggested that the board adopt the wording used on the Articles of Incorporation as our Mission Statement. The board approved his suggestion. The Mission is preserving, protecting, and improving the unique spring-fed Chain O’Lakes and its surrounding environment for the benefit of present and future generations of residents and visitors.

4. Website. Board members reviewed the newly developed comprehensive website set up by Rick Hammen.

Enclosed is a summary of the Waupaca Chain O Lakes Association Board Committees, one list being by Committee and one list being by Board member names. Also shown are ex officio members of the committees being Association members who are not currently members of the Board of Directors. It was suggested and approved that the Boat Inspection Committee consisting of Bob Kessler, Bob Underberg and Ron Wight be added to the list.

ADJOURNMENT. The meeting was adjourned with the notation that the next meeting would
be on January 12, 2008, and the following meeting was to be changed from March 8 to March 15.

Respectfully submitted,

Carl M. Webber, Secretary
